I grew up on Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest and loved getting immersed in the universe, characters, and story of each. The Tales series is another great one but over the last 5-10 years I found games not grabbing my attention like they used to. I thought I was over them, but it turns out they just weren't up to snuff. I bought Trails of Cold Steel on a whim and I never put it down. The characters are phenomenal, I love the ensemble cast. The world is deep and the supporting characters add excellent substance around the main cast. Visuals are beautiful and clean. Gameplay is excellent. The only thing I'd say is that combat can be a bit gimmicky especially later in the game. If you spec right the game's incredibly easy but hey that's most JRPGs that have a grind and customization.I recommend this game 100 times over, it's the best RPG I've played in over a decade.. Adding elements of Persona and Final Fantasy, this is the turn based evolution to the JRPG I was looking for. While this first game in the "Cold Steel" Erebonia Arc is somewhat slow, it is well worth the price of admission for the wealth of content, and a great story with memorable characters. The localization is excellent, with the right blend of English idioms and spirit for the source material without resorting to a shallow word for word translation. While I played through the first two games of Trails of Cold Steel on PS3 as well, the graphical and vocal additions as well as the turbo mode available on the PC version make this more then worthy to play through again.. Trails series is always impress me and cold steel 1's story is very enjoyable.I will recommend this game but i kinda like trails in the sky or ao no kiseki more than this game. I mean I just want drawing pictures which full of emotion of character instead of 3D model when they talk. That will make this game 10\/10 for me. For now i will give 9\/10.sry for my english.. its Persona 5. Great game with a very in depth story. Character development is well thought out as well. Battles may be a little easy, with few being challenging, but the game is great nonetheless. Highly recommend.
